2022 was supposed to be a pivotal year in the new stage of development of the cheese sector of Ukraine because this year, the prestigious international cheese competition, World Cheese Awards, was supposed to come to us. This event would gather more than 10,000 cheese connoisseurs and professionals from around the world in Kyiv who have one common passion – cheese.
The host, partner, and co-organizer of the WCA in Ukraine is Ardis Group — a cheese importer and producer and a community of ProCheese cheese connoisseurs created by Ardis Group.
Due to the Russian invasion, organizers postponed WCA in Ukraine until the end of hostilities. This year, the long-awaited event will take place on the territory of the founding country of the competition — Great Britain, in Wales.
But there is also good news. Despite the difficult situation, Ardis Group and ProCheese agreed with the WCA organizers on the free participation of 50 Ukrainian cheesemakers in the competition.
This year we will be the official representatives of Ukraine at the World Cheese Awards. We will help Ukrainian cheeses to get to Wales free of charge thanks to the support of Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian program «Development of trade with higher added value in the organic and dairy sectors of Ukraine».
We undertake:
- development of a system for selecting participants for the competition;
- registration of participation in the Ukrainian cheese contest in the online registration system according to a special procedure without payment;
- organizing the delivery of cheese to a consolidated center in Great Britain with the support of development partners;
- expert support in the procedure of preparation of export documents according to the requests of the organizing party.
Also, as part of the WCA, several events are planned to popularize Ukrainian cheeses among the international cheese community, which will be an impetus for the future export of dairy products.
We draw your attention to the fact that craft cheesemakers and large cheese producers can participate in the World Cheese Awards 2022. The most important thing is the proven quality of the product and the unique formulation, which will increase competitiveness and increase the chances of receiving an award.
